Revisiting the fundamentals of bass fishing, Yamaha took it back to the market by producing the Bass 440 as an answer to the burning question of "what does a bass fisherman really want?" Space, storage and stability are what they come up with and these are the key areas of importance that has been concentrated on in this boat. Below deck there are a number of storage and tackle hatches available and on deck you will find a few clever conveniences like a cooler box between seats, an aerated split live well and of course for those long summer days - the essential drinks holders.
The optimal layout of this 5.1m / 16.7 ft boat allows adequate fishing room without the crew having to trip over each other. The overall design allows full usage of deck space to facilitate easy movement around the boat. One of the clever contraptions, which passengers are sure to appreciate, is the collapsible tilt-up deck, which flaps up to act as a windscreen, and then neatly folds back down again to restore full deck space. Although weighing in at only 300kg, there is plenty power and platform to easily accommodate 2 or more fishermen and the boat also features 2 casting seats fore and aft.
Being foam filled to SAMSA standard and having separate fuel and battery storage for safe compartmentalization, the Bass 440 meets also all prescribed safety requirements. It boasts a fully carpeted deck, built-in sneaker motor mount and comes with a galvanized easy-to tow trailer. This boat is comfortably towed behind even an average size family sedan.
